Russian teams and clubs have been suspended from FIFA and UEFA tournaments since the end of February. At the end of April, RBC Sport informedthat the RFU is considering several scenarios for the development of Russian football, one of which was the transition to the AFC.

Last week RBC Sport discoveredthat UEFA for the first time has eased sanctions against Russian football and will organize a youth tournament in Russia under its auspices. The head of the RFU, Alexander Dyukov, confirmed this information, but noted that UEFA will not yet restore Russian football.

According to Dyukov, the majority of Russian clubs and members of the RFU executive committee support the transition to the AFC.
