Federico Pinedoleader of Together for Change and former provisional president of the Senate of the Nation, spoke of joining Freedom Advances to end the “culture of abuse of power” that characterized Kirchnierism. Pinedo said that this model manifested itself in a series of actions that included confrontation with judges, journalists and opponents, as well as in a populist economic policy that generated the current inflation.
«We had a meeting with Patricia Bullrich where we analyzed what Juntos had done for the change, which was to build an alternative power in Argentina. We had built a force that balanced the political system. You have to think that when Cristina Kirchner won in 2011 she got 54% of the votes and the second was a provincial party of Hermes Binner that got 17%,” Pinedo expressed in an interview for Futurock radio.
«So, you realize what that system was that led to a fierce abuse of power by Kirchnerism that dedicated itself to attacking judges, journalists, opponents, anything that pretended that its power was not unlimited. ‘Let’s go for everything’ was the phrase that identified him in that period. Faced with that, Together for Change built a political force that balanced the political system and stopped abuse,” argued the former CABA councilor.
«That allowed JxC to win four of the three following national elections, starting in 2015, I am talking about, that is, he lost one, which was in 2019. So, we think that is very important for Argentines, that they have an alternative option that can give it a way out and a different direction,” explained the former national deputy.
Pinedo insisted on supporting Javier Milei
«That decision of Kirchnerism to build super inflation to be political is an abuse of power. If you have the culture of abuse of power that I just described, the situation is dangerous for your country and for your people, that is what we think. So, that motivated us to support this option (La Libertad Avanza) that is not ours,”
«The opposition of Kirchnerism was clearly divided between Milei and JxC, we lost and Milei won, the opposition cannot be divided in the future and that was the reasoning we did at the JxC meeting after the defeat. If you want things to change, you have to do something to make them change, something minimal that is within your reach, if you really decide that you want things to change. We must vote for the alternative, even though our differences with the libertarians are important,” Pinedo stressed.
