Federal Tax Authority Signs Government Services Quality Charter for Enhanced Customer Service

The Federal Tax Authority signed the Government Services Quality Charter, which was launched by the UAE government with the aim of reaching new levels in customer service, and achieving a quantum leap in the levels of efficiency and effectiveness of these services to ensure the provision of comfortable and smooth experiences for all customers.

The charter was signed at the “Services 1” center in the Emirates Towers, in the presence of Khaled Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, and Mohammed Bin Taliah, Head of Government Services in the UAE Government, and a number of officials from both sides. This step is part of the authority’s continuous endeavor to improve the level of services provided to its clients in accordance with the highest international standards and practices.

Khaled Al-Bustani said: “We are honored to sign the Government Services Quality Charter, which represents the best evidence of the continuous development approach adopted by the Authority in all its services and projects to build an integrated tax system that provides proactive services of high quality and efficiency in accordance with best practices and standards followed globally, and in line with the vision of our wise leadership for outstanding government performance. The signing of the charter also confirms our full commitment to implementing the axes and principles of this very important charter, which was launched as a main reference in the development of government services, with the aim of facilitating the customer’s journey and enabling him to experience simplified, effective and fast services.”

Through the charter, the Authority will work on developing three transformative paths for the development of services during the coming period, which include: the smart application “Maskan” for tax refund service for state citizens for building new homes, through which the Authority will refund the value-added tax incurred by citizens of the state for building their new homes. The launch of this platform aims to reduce the burden on the applicant by reducing the number of steps and making it a paperless service.

Mohammed bin Taliah stressed that the UAE government, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, is keen to develop government work methodologies and devise proactive solutions to challenges in accordance with the concepts of participatory design and the aspirations of individuals to achieve a direct positive impact on customers and society.

Mohammed bin Taliah said: The Federal Tax Authority’s adoption of the Government Services Quality Charter, which was launched by the UAE government, embodies the state’s directions and efforts to accelerate the development of services and continue to improve them on the basis of sustainability to provide the best government services and enhance customer experience to improve government performance and readiness for the future. Which reflects positively on improving people’s lives and building a better future for future generations.

The tracks also include developing procedures for issuing a tax domicile certificate, including simplifying procedures and integrating with other systems and departments to speed up issuance of certificates and improve customer experience. The authority issues this certificate to enable the applicant to benefit from the agreements to avoid double taxation to which the UAE is a party, in addition to developing the instant chat and live chat channel with the aim of improving the customer experience and providing information about the services provided by the authority through the electronic systems of the partners through a single channel.

It is noteworthy that the UAE government had launched the “Government Services Development Guide” to make a quantum leap in methodologies for planning, designing, implementing and launching services in the government and developing thought from project management to the thought of managing service products.
