NEW YORK, May 19 (Reuters) – Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said on Friday that the future trajectory of monetary policy has become less certain after an aggressive period of just over a year of rate hikes aimed at fighting inflation.
“The risks of doing too much or too little are becoming more balanced, and our policies are being adjusted to reflect that,” Powell said at the conference.
“We haven’t made any decisions about how appropriate additional policy tightening would be.”
