Federal police Freiburg arrested two men in the long-distance bus – Freiburg

The long-distance bus journey of two men wanted with an arrest warrant ended early Tuesday morning. First they were taken to the Freiburg Federal Police station and then to a prison.

Both men were independently on a long-distance coach to Italy when they were checked by the federal police at the central bus station in Freiburg im Breisgau early Tuesday morning.

According to the police, a 40-year-old Romanian national with the destination Milan was first checked by the patrol. The check revealed that the man had only been wanted for a few days with an arrest warrant. He was sentenced to a fine of 1,140 euros for a property crime or 38 days in prison. There was also a request from a public prosecutor’s office to determine the whereabouts of the man who is accused of fraud.

During another check shortly afterwards, a 29-year-old Iraqi national was found on the same long-distance bus. There was also an arrest warrant against him for several months. Last year he was sentenced to a fine of 3,560 euros for procuring false official IDs. Here, too, an 89-day substitute prison sentence threatened. Since both men were unable to pay the fines demanded, they were arrested by the Federal Police and taken to a prison to serve out the substitute prison sentences.
