His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed continues the approach of the founding fathers in consolidating the Shura approach, by emphasizing the importance of the Council’s role in adopting various issues that concern the people of the nation, and contribute to enhancing the development and progress of the state, as his directives during his meetings with the President of the Council and its members embodied his vision for the Council to continue His national journey, which has been characterized throughout its history as a conscious journey stemming from the specificity of Emirati society, its inherent values, conditions, and needs.
Saqr Ghobash, Chairman of the Federal National Council, stressed that the Council has contributed during its 52-year history to the cultural development and comprehensive development witnessed by the UAE in all sectors, as the country has a legislative environment that keeps pace with the progress it is witnessing and provides it with the appropriate climate to place it in advanced centers in the world. With a national will that stems from the values of loyalty, belonging, and cohesion of the leadership and people in consolidating the pillars of sustainable development throughout the nation in light of our blessed federal journey.

He added that the Council is keen to carry out its constitutional and legislative tasks in a way that enhances its role in the national development system and contributes to the comprehensive renaissance process witnessed by the country in a way that meets the aspirations of the people and leadership.
He pointed out that the Council, in implementation of its political plan that it developed to invest participation in the activities of Expo 2020 Dubai, succeeded in achieving many pioneering achievements of parliamentary diplomacy, represented by strengthening its parliamentary relations with the parliaments of “75” sisterly and friendly countries, and organizing 114 events that included visits to many Pavilions of participating countries, attending 47 national events for countries participating in the exhibition, receiving 49 heads of parliaments, heads of international parliamentary organizations and parliamentary delegations, and hosting three regional and international parliamentary meetings with the participation of 200 presidents and members of parliament.
Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection, and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, also stressed that the Council is one of the strategic pillars of the UAE, and a model of effective parliamentary work in the process of development and prosperity and achieving the forward-looking vision of our wise leadership in the next fifty years, reaching its vision.
