It concerns a 0.15 percent tax on securities accounts with 1 million euros or more. Anyone who has such a securities account will therefore have to pay 1,500 euros annually.
The previous securities tax applied from half a million euros and would only have been levied on shares, bonds and savings certificates. The new tax will apply to all financial instruments in a securities account, including options and turbos, for example.
The solidarity contribution applies not only to private individuals, but also to companies and legal constructions. Experience shows that capital is often placed under such structures.
The government is convinced that the new solidarity contribution is a sustainable part of fiscal policy. The proceeds are estimated at around 300 million euros.
