Various corona rules will be relaxed in Berlin on Wednesday. The reason is that the incidence value remained below 100 for five consecutive working days until Monday. According to the regulations of the so-called federal emergency brake, the first easing is possible on the day after next.

As of Friday (May 21), it will most likely be relaxed further. Among other things, restaurants are allowed to reopen their outdoor areas. However, guests have to prove a negative test result or complete vaccination protection if they want to order something on the terrace.
It should continue like this in two-week steps on June 4 and 18, with easing, for example, for accommodation providers. Only the schools in Berlin remain in the same mode as before: Berlin relies on the alternation model – unlike Brandenburg, where the pupils are supposed to return to the schools for face-to-face classes before the summer holidays.
