Bern, September 9, 2024 – On September 10 and 11, 2024, Federal Councilor Guy Parmelin will visit the WorldSkills in Lyon together with a Swiss vocational training delegation. In addition to attending the opening ceremony in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and a guided tour of the competition site, the program includes meetings with stakeholders in Swiss vocational training.
The participation of Swiss professionals in international professional championships such as WorldSkills makes a significant contribution to increasing the reputation and awareness of Switzerland’s dual vocational training system internationally. As a sign of appreciation and to personally cheer on the Swiss team on site, Education Minister Guy Parmelin is travelling to WorldSkills in Lyon.
From September 10 to 15, 2024, the best young professionals from all over the world will compete there and fight for medals in 59 different professions. Around 250,000 visitors are expected. The Swiss national professional team will be there with 45 young talents who will compete in 41 competitions.
