Elections will be held if a coalition is not found within 50 days, announced the president of the PS.

Paul Magnette (PS) and Bart De Wever (N-VA) visited the Royal Palace on Monday. The King asked them to take the necessary initiatives allowing the establishment of a government which relies on a large majority in parliament.
In a video posted on Twitter, Paul Magnette addressed the Belgians. He announces a reform of the state, believing that Belgium is not currently ready to manage the economic and social crisis following the coronavirus epidemic. “Our country will lose tens of thousands of jobs, and we are the only country in Europe not to have an emergency plan,” he laments. “The time has come to clarify each other’s missions and to simplify our institutional system to make it more efficient”.
He also announced that if a government is not formed within 50 days, new elections will be held. “During these 50 days, I will devote all my energy to forming a real government that has a real capacity to act. You can count on me to defend Social Security, protect the people of Brussels and the Walloons, and prepare strong responses to the crisis we are going through, ”says Paul Magnette.
