The noises of the cloakroom …
The score speaks for itself (40-0, Editor’s note). Now, a big reception against Marcq-en-Barœul awaits us.
Rennes are a great team, who use the ball very well … And we spent our time giving it back to them, the rare times we had it. The sanction is therefore logical and deserved. Either we react strongly, by assuming our status as Federal 1 rugby players, or we will have a very complicated season.
It was the second game of the season against Drancy, one of our direct competitors, due to the closeness of the two clubs. The first half was very close, with a lot of commitment from both sides. We were able to make a difference in the second half to win this match and start our season at home. It is a very important victory to give the team confidence, before the trip to Niort next weekend. It’s up to us to work again this week.
First home game in front of our supporters and first victory. It was important to win today. Envy and determination were there. Despite many hand errors, we never closed the game, so it’s a well-deserved victory in front of a great team from Drancy. It took a long time to take shape, but the essentials are there. See you next Sunday in Niort.
RC Drancy moved to Chartres with a desire to redeem itself from its previous result (home defeat against Marcq-en-Barœul, Editor’s note). We felt a real tension before kick-off, because this day was important for both teams. The first part of this match was a succession of faults on both sides, without volume of play. Certainly, because the teams were inhibited by the stake of this part. Still, we took the lead and led 10-3 before turning 12-12 at halftime. Everything was going to be decided on the second part of the match. After regaining the advantage, we were unable to hold the ball and multiply the playing time in order to gain the upper hand. The lack of patience and awkwardness allowed Chartres to stay in the game and score 10 minutes from the end of the game. Final score, 15-19, a result that will have to be forgotten very quickly. We must recover and prepare for the derby next weekend against Saint-Denis.
It is a victory on the wire, at the end of a rather closed match where the scorers were the only ones to express themselves. It’s a game that was won with guts. It was a tough battle in conquest and in defense. It took scrap to get this victory, with a large crowd, it was only happiness!
We are returning from Lille with regrets. The sharing of points would have been really deserved! It was a big showdown for 80 minutes, and although there was no try, the game gave us some good lessons offensively. We did some great things, but we should have been more efficient and taken the points when they came up.
It is not at all the hoped-for start to the season. Afterwards, we are aware of our shortcomings and our areas for improvement to achieve a first victory. We have to mature and grow together. The season is long. Congratulations to Floirac who played well.
It was a beautiful evening of rugby, in a superb stadium. The match was very engaged, but we got it under control. We must congratulate the players for their enormous involvement. We will recover well and we will get back to work on Tuesday to receive one of the ogres of the hen (Périgueux, Editor’s note).
We wanted to confirm after our away victory and start our season well at home. It’s done. We made a few mistakes in the first half, but we continued to produce the game and ended up realizing our actions. We are satisfied with the entry and will rely on this match to prepare well for our next trip to Floirac.
We expected a very difficult game and we were served. After a balanced first half, our air gap in the second half cost us dearly. We conceded a lot of points in the space of 20 minutes, which is a shame. We know that we still have to work a lot to be efficient for longer and compete against a team of the value of the CAP.
We’re happy to win away, and what’s more, with the offensive bonus. We are also satisfied with the victory of the Federal Hopes. Regarding the first team, there were positive things like the conquest, but we lacked patience and precision in a lot of sequences. These successes allow us to validate the work done for several weeks and keep everyone under pressure. It’s always easier to work for victory.
A well-established Arcachon team appeared in front of us. We have still undergone our apprenticeship at this very demanding stage that is Federal 1. The score is logical, but internally we are progressing and hope to obtain our first victory quickly. The group is under construction. We remain positive.
