Fede Valverde, Uruguayan midfielder for Real Madrid, acknowledged his drop in performance after the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where the poor result with his team admitted that it “affected” him, convinced that he will emerge stronger from a bad experience.
“The World Cup affected me. When you go for a goal, you have such illusion and optimism that everything will go well with your country, you go with the dream of a child representing millions of people to try to go as far as possible and fight to win, by not being able to do it makes you sad. Everything we work on seems to have been of no use and it hurts,” he acknowledged at a press conference at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium.
