“Fed Member Warns of Uncertainty and Fear Surrounding Interest Rates Ahead of Important Week”

Investing.com – A member of the US Federal Reserve, Austin Goolsby, said before a very important week that will witness many events that will directly affect interest pricing, that there is a state of fear and uncertainty about interest rates at the present time.

Goolsby added that she does not want to give any signals about the interest, because she will not take her decision until after completing all the data that will be issued in the coming weeks.

The Fed meeting will be held on the 13th and 14th of next June, and the markets evaluate by more than 60% that the Fed will raise interest rates to 5.50% levels. This change in interest expectations came after the release of data that was higher and higher than expectations.

Goolsby explained that the Fed has improved in its fight against inflation, but it has not succeeded yet. But he stressed that the dilemma facing the Fed is its endeavor to reduce inflation without starting a severe series of economic recession.

Fed member Austin commented on the issue of the US debt ceiling, which seems to be close to being resolved after the convergence of views between the US presidency and the US House of Representatives. It is now expected that an agreement will be reached to raise the ceiling of America’s debt in a two-year agreement.

“Just expecting problems and disagreements over the debt ceiling has consequences for financial markets,” Goolsby said.
