Trend for FebruaryThe month of February is likely to hold many surprises in store for us this year. On the other hand, when two atmospheric giants they face each other face to face, the consequences can be heavy and surprising: this is what will happen in the tough challenge between polar frost it’s a super anticycloneclash that should characterize the next month.
The two elements, to tell the truth, are already in action on the European chessboard: on the one hand, the more eastern one, a raw winter is carrying whether e neveon the other, the westernmost one, there are decidedly less stormy conditions and above all almost no rainfall.
With the beginning of February this arm wrestling will sharpen further and the challenge will initially see the triumph of thehigh pressure.
However, towards the end of next week, due to a particular synoptic configuration that could take place at the hemispheric level, the climate picture could change radically. In fact, according to the latest projections, the Azores anticyclone could go as far as very high latitudes, even reaching Scandinavia.
This anomalous movement of the anticyclonic bubble will set in motion freezing air currents (air of arctic-continental origin) which will flow from Russia as “a river of air“ towards the Mediterranean basin: come on, the general atmospheric picture will thus turn towards a colder context.
Very cold air arriving in Italy from February 5thFrom the north-east the cold north-east winds will gradually become more and more pressing and will affect above all the Adriatic sectors and the South. If this were to be confirmed, it is legitimate to expect a decidedly cold climate with the possibility of snowfall up to very low altitude; obviously, for the details it is necessary to wait a few more days, given the high time distance, above all to better understand where the low depressions will be located and therefore the areas most affected by the rainfall.
