Consumer prices rose the highest in a year last month as prices for agricultural and fishery products rose sharply.
Looking at the consumer price trend of the National Statistical Office, the consumer price index last month was 107, up 1.1% from the same month last year.
This is the highest rate of increase since February of last year.
By item, the price of agricultural and livestock products rose by 16.2%, the highest in 10 years since 2011.
In particular, green onions rose 227.5% and apples 55.2% due to poor harvest, and eggs rose 41.7% due to avian influenza.
On the other hand, industrial products fell by 0.7%, and electricity, water and gas also fell by 5%.
The National Statistical Office explained that although prices of agricultural and livestock products and services have increased, the inflation rate has increased, but that inflation is not a concern.
