Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi beat Rui Hirokami/Yuna Kato in the last 16 Denmark Open 2023. Febri/Tiwi had quite a bit of resistance in this phase.
Competing at Arena Fyn, Odense, Thursday (19/10/2023) evening WIB, Febri/Tiwi did not win easily. The only remaining Indonesian women’s doubles in this event won with a score of 21-17, 21-17.
Febri/Tiwi started the match very well. The pair were able to run fast with a 7-0 lead over Rui/Yuna.
The Japanese representative was slowly able to put up resistance, but Febri/Tiwi continued to lead 11-7 until the interval. After the break, Rui/Yuna narrowed the score to 11-13.
Febri/Tiwi really struggled against Rui/Yuna after the interval. Despite fierce competition, Febri/Tiwi were finally able to win the first game with a score of 21-17.
Not wanting to be careless like in the first game, Rui/Yuna were able to lead 3-0 at the start. This lead failed to be maintained properly so Febri/Tiwi were able to come back ahead 11-10 in the interval.
After a tight duel in the second game, Febri/Tiwi finally won 21-17. This result led them to advance to the quarter-finals.
