Febri Diansyah farewell, interspersed with jokes from the KPK official car

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Head of Public Relations Bureau of the Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP) Febri Diansyah will end his service at the anti-corruption institution, today, Friday (16/10).

On his last day of work, Febri received a joke from his colleague about the plan to purchase official cars as the KPK budget draft for 2021.

The budget for the purchase of official cars is earmarked for the leadership, supervisory board and structural officers of the KPK. Febri as the Head of the Bureau, including those who get it if he doesn’t resign.

“There were also friends who joked and said, ‘Aren’t you regretting leaving the KPK, Feb, because next year officials at the KPK, including the Head of the Bureau, will get official cars?’,” Said Febri, imitating his colleague’s joke.

“I just smiled in response to that,” he replied.

Febri joined the KPK on November 1, 2013 through the Indonesia Call VII program. This former anti-corruption activist initially worked at the Gratification Directorate before moving to the Public Relations section.

Currently, he admits that he is completing administrative requirements before officially leaving the institution that raised his name. He has worked for seven years at the office located in Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

“In recent days I have completed several obligations such as reporting the LHKPN at the end of office, working meetings until the third quarter of 2020 and returning library books,” said Febri.

“Several other obligations are being resolved today,” he added.

Febri hopes that in the future the KPK can be trusted and loved again by the public for its serious performance in eradicating corruption.

“There are still many KPK employee friends who have good intentions and are steadfast in their efforts to eradicate corruption. Hopefully they will be given physical and mental strength,” he added.

Previously, Febri decided to resign from the KPK for reasons of political and legal conditions that had changed since the KPK Law was changed.

After the new law came into effect, according to him, the room for significant contributions to be involved in eradicating corruption became very narrow.

He sent a resignation letter to KPK Secretary General Cahya Hardianto Harefa dated September 18, 2020. He then plans to create a public law office that is engaged in anti-corruption and consumer protection.
