Among the measures taken by the local authorities in this governorate are intensifying work to clear, clean and treat ditches and water facilities, and raising the level of vigilance in areas that have recorded the spread of insects that transmit the virus.
West Nile virus infection is a viral disease that spreads mainly from mosquitoes to humans. Most people have mild or no symptoms, but some have a severe infection that affects the central nervous system.
