Fears of Extremism: State Security Investigates Shocking Video of FPÖ Youth

From the chancellor down, politicians are rather shocked by a strange video of the FPÖ youth. Now the state security is also investigating. And turned on the judiciary.

The fact that the video of the FPÖ youth – we reported – only differs from that of the identities with a lot of imagination should be the unanimous opinion among the parties. Except for – guess what – the FPÖ. Is the film that was posted on YouTube, in which journalists and political critics are also branded in addition to doomsday fantasies, also dangerous?

The state protection – DSN – the successor organization of the protection of the constitution is now dealing with exactly that question. Apparently, the video not only used the stylistic devices of the organization classified as right-wing extremist – it has not named itself – but also some people discovered by state security who are said to belong to this group.

Former head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Peter Gridling, made it clear via an oe24.TV interview that “unlike Herbert Kickl, he doesn’t see the Identitarians as normal right-wing NGOs,” but as extreme right-wingers.

State security intensifies observation of the right-wing extremist scene

Chancellor Karl Nehammer also sharply criticized the video via oe24 and pointed out the “historical hints” and conspiracy myths in the FPÖ youth contribution.

Probably one of the reasons why the state security has now also sent this blue contribution to the public prosecutor’s office. This is to check whether, in addition to moral violations, legal boundaries have also been violated.

In addition, the state security announces a more intensive observation of the right-wing extremist scene in Austria behind the scenes. Apparently there is a fear that words will be followed by deeds …
