Washington – The mood in the USA is heated before the US election – there is talk of impending riots on election day and in the days after the election. The security measures before the presidential election on November 5th are therefore particularly high this year. However, he wanted to be “fully prepared” for possible civil unrest around election day.
Trump result in US election: voting mailbox burns – ballot paper damaged
In the state in the northwest of the USA, a voting mailbox was set on fire at the beginning of the week. As Inslee announced, the fire in the city of Vancouver was started by an incendiary device and hundreds of ballots were damaged or destroyed. Almost simultaneously, a similar incident occurred in the neighboring city of Portland, Oregon.
Inslee is now responding to this incident and to nationwide warnings from the Department of Homeland Security about threats to election infrastructure, the statement said. Between Monday, November 4th and Thursday, November 7th, as many National Guard members should be activated as necessary. This is necessary to maintain public safety and the well-being of everyone.
