Wednesday’s one-day series of missile tests was the highest in 2017, the year of “fire and fury” when Kim Jong-un clashed with then-US President Donald Trump.
“Pyongyang’s rapid missile launch this week is due to the Vigilant Storm which includes the F-35 stealth fighter,” said Go Myong-hyun, an analyst at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. AFPFriday (4/11/2022).

Vigilant Storm is the name of a US-South Korean air exercise that practices intense air strikes.
“Pyongyang believes stealth jets will be used in the ‘beheading’ operation,” Go said.
Operation “beheading” or “beheading strike” is the term for attacks with the mission of overthrowing the regime.
Analysts said ongoing US and South Korean military exercises were a key factor and warned that Kim was building another nuclear weapons test.
The joint air exercise Vigilant Storm was originally supposed to end on Friday (4/11/2022), but will be extended. “To maintain a strict joint security position in the face of North Korean aggression,” the South Korean Air Force said.
“This complex annual exercise took months of planning and preparation,” the South Korean Air Force continued.
