from Rinaldo Frignani

Policemen and carabinieri guard the area even if the traffic police did not have to close any roads to traffic. At 4 pm in Piazza Venezia, the former general Pappalardo with about eighty supporters: “We could have been millions”

There was no one at the appointment at 10 on Monday morning, the Circus Maximus was deserted with policemen and carabinieri guarding the area even if the traffic police did not have to close any roads to traffic. The workers continue to work regularly on a road construction site, even if there are still inconveniences for those who have to park the car since the whole area is cordoned off including the parking stalls.

Meanwhile, however, while the police stopped some campers of demonstrators heading downtown in the early hours of the morning between Arco di Travertino and via Cristoforo Colombo, a group of protesters of the green pass gathered at the Altare della Patria. Then, around 4 pm, the group strengthened a bit with the arrival of the former general of the carabinieri Antonio Pappalardo accompanied by about eighty demonstrators: “We could have been millions but fear won”, he justified himself after the flop of membership. Now he is considering whether to denounce them since they have created chaos, in front of the Altar of the Fatherland.

Among them, also the Turin leader of the movement, Marco Liccione. «We are here to be heard, the police take sides with us – he explains -, they ask us to move but we will not go away, we do not want to see our rights trampled on. We are not against the vaccine but we are against the government which has done nothing. The problem is not the vaccine but the high bills and the lack of work. Let’s say enough of the green pass and the restrictions ». The entire area of Piazza Venezia is also armored by the police even if there is currently no critical issue for the Police Headquarters.
