“You have started a skating career,” begins presenter Philip Freriks. “I thought ‘I’m going to do things that take at least three years of my life in terms of fear to overcome’. Then this is one of them,” Nandi replies, referring to her participation in the game show. “And skating too. It’s the musical about the Elfstedentocht. And that will take place on real ice.”
Philip is curious if she can already skate ‘paw-over’. “I can do a leg over, but I don’t have to say ‘Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!’ say it. Unless I sing it!” says Nandi laughing. Philip asks if she can say something, after which Nandi starts singing a part of the musical like a nightingale without hesitation.
But it doesn’t stop there, because Philip wonders if the musical star is crazy about chansons and lets her sing again. “I love it,” she says. Once again she effortlessly sings a piece of ‘Voilà’ by Barbara Pravi, known from the Eurovision hit. The fact that she starts singing in the program without any doubt proves how relaxed she is in her chair. So fear conquered!
