Fear and money focus on individual and societal fear of loss as well as financial concerns. In the form of an internal monologue, Graw deals with concerns and emotions that are ubiquitous in times of social crisis. Instead of proposing solutions, the book develops a literary and psychoanalytical perspective on these concerns and fears.
Isabelle Graw is professor of art history and art theory at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. In 1990, she co-founded the magazine Texte zur Kunst with Stefan Germer. Current areas of research include the critique and creation of value under new forms of capitalism as well as discovery and activism in painting.
Jackie Thomas is a writer and journalist based in Berlin. After two non-fiction books, her new novel Moments of clarity (Months of clarity) published in 2015. Her second novel brothers (Brothers) was shortlisted for the 2019 German Book Award and was awarded the 2020 Düsseldorf Literary Award.
Brigitte Weingart is Professor of Media Theory at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her research focuses on the media’s position in phenomena such as contagion, appropriation and interest. Since 2022, she has been leading a sub-project on meme cultures at the Intervening Arts Collaborative Research Center.
