Three years ago, when Ralf Loose had just started his position at FCW, the prominent Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini appeared on the Schützenwiese with West Ham United. The Londoners had come from their training camp in Bad Ragaz and then lost 2: 3.
This Saturday, Pellegrini, now 68 years old, is again opponent Looses and FCW. Again he comes from Bad Ragaz, where he stayed for ten days with Betis Sevilla this time. The Spaniards then drive from Schützenwiese to Kloten Airport to fly home.
In his career, Pellegrini has already coached first guard clubs, Real Madrid (without a championship title) and Manchester City (with the championship title in 2014). With Betis, which had only finished 15th in the league the year before, he reached 6th place in his first season and thus qualified directly for the group stage of the Europa League. The number 1 in the city, however, remained FC, which was two places and 16 points better at the end of the season and was allowed to play in the Champions League.
