New signing Christian Häusler will play for the first time against Zorneding
Matchday number nine in the district league sees FC Moosinning play a home game against newly promoted TSV Zorneding this Friday at 7.30 p.m., who arrive with the heavy burden of a 5-0 defeat against Langengeisling during the week. The hosts, who have been unbeaten for four rounds, want to extend their series and climb further up the table.
“The personnel situation is gradually easing. I’ve already told the boys that things are really getting going now,” reports coach Christoph Ball, who can welcome a few returnees and a new addition to the squad: Florian Jakob, who was recently unable to play due to work commitments, is available again, as are Felix Meier and Mohamed Abdane. Christian Häusler, who joined from VfB Forstinning at the end of August, is in the squad for the first time. The 28-year-old attacker comes with the recommendation of 16 goals in the last district league season for SC Grüne Heide Ismaning.
Ball will also have to do without Thomas Auerweck, who will have to take a break for another 14 days due to groin problems. Marcos Hones (torn meniscus) is also unavailable for an indefinite period, while Luis Haumann is only unable to play today due to work commitments. “Competition is good for business. You can see that immediately in training, it immediately gives you a completely different dynamic. I hope it stays that way,” said a delighted Ball, who had to forego match-like training due to the tense personnel situation in recent weeks: “Some things cannot be trained properly when you are only playing with seven against seven men. If you train properly, I can also line up accordingly.”
The guests, who started with two defeats and then made a brief comeback, suffered another setback last week with a 2:3 loss against Ampfing and were then beaten 5:0 in a catch-up match against Langengeisling on Tuesday. “I was very surprised by the result because Zorneding already has a good team and is also looking for playful solutions,” says Ball, who wants to see a win regardless of the opponent’s form: “We have to make sure that we keep the opponent away from our goal. And we have to keep improving up front, we simply have to be more determined in the final third. That was also a shortcoming in the 3:1 win last week in Raubling. If we make better use of our chances, we won’t have to worry forever. Basically, we want to create a buffer at the back of the table first and then we’ll see what happens. I think we’re on the right track.”
