The e-athletes of 1. FC Kaiserslautern celebrated an important success against 1. FC Heidenheim on the fourth match day of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) in the South East Division and thus got three valuable points.

The match day started with an intense doubles match pitting FCK duo Felix “iFeliix23” Breitkopf and Omeed “omeedfifa” Hakimi against Kai “LionxX” Bayer and Lukas “Lukas_1004” Seiler from 1. FC Heidenheim took over. The teams fought an exciting battle which ended in a 2-2 draw and marked the start of an exciting match day.

Battle of nerves in the last game

Breitkopf showed his skills in the first singles match. He dominated the match against Burak “FCH_Burak” May and won clearly 6:1. The last match of the day was a battle of nerves: Hakimi took on Bayer. The game ended in a wild draw 5:5. With this result, FCK secured an overall victory on day four.

“Our players showed great team spirit and a will to fight today. In the end we were able to get the upper hand and get some important points,” said eSports coordinator Adrian Starkbaum.

Thanks to this success, 1. FC Kaiserslautern is currently in third place in the Southeast Division with nine points from four games. The game against Eintracht Frankfurt is on Wednesday.
