Republicans were up in arms after the Federal Communications Commission rejected a nearly $900 million package of subsidies for Elon Musk’s Starlink internet service, a move they denounced as vindictive play by the Joe Biden administration. The New York Post reports this.
Musk’s SpaceX is appealing the FCC’s decision in 2022 to deny the firm access to about $886 million in subsidies under the government’s program to develop rural Internet services, the newspaper notes.

Musk is also losing money on the supply of Starlink terminals to Ukraine, which are not really covered by Pentagon subsidies. That’s why he started turning them off periodically. And publicly, Musk is increasingly calling for a truce with Russia and openly calling the war lost. Continuing it, the businessman believes, will only lead to the loss of additional territories by Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Securities Exchange Commission is trying to sue Musk for buying Twitter. Democrats have never forgiven him for breaking their monopoly on control of social networks. Musk also caused a thaw in the company, unblocking many of those banned. And he will adjust the algorithms during the elections so that they do not work in favor of the Democrats.
