FCC Approval Shows Sonos Sub Mini Subwoofer With Round Design – Sound and Vision – News

Nobody says that Sonos is bad, but the set you mention quickly goes towards 2000 euros, while you can actually approach that sound quality for 1000 euros. People never complain at Sonos about the quality, because it is reasonable, but about the ratio between the price and the quality.

To give a simple example, a Philips B97 does just as well in terms of sound as your entire setup and costs a thousand less. The sub is in no way inferior to a Sonos sub gen 3. The side speakers that you can disconnect give just as much surround as the Sonos One speakers. Of course you can also add separate rear speakers via DTS Play-Fi.

The only downside is that PlayFi only streams well with things like Spotify. It is therefore somewhat more limited, but of course that depends on your requirements. For me, that limitation in streaming was not worth the extra thousand euros. Although I am not with the Philips but with the Yamaha YSP2700, which on its own comes out above the ARC in terms of surround and other sound. Especially if your room shape suits it.
