FC Winterthur has been in training camp in southern Turkey since Wednesday. The Winterthur team tested for the first time on Saturday afternoon. There was a 0-0 draw against Helmond Sport from the second league in Holland.
Samuel Ballet was not there. He is expected to miss at least the first part of training camp because he is abroad for contract discussions. This brings some movement into the Winterthur transfer winter. At the beginning of the week it was still pretty quiet at FCW. Roy Gelmi moved to Vaduz. A departure that had become apparent. Ballet, on the other hand, only extended its contract with FCW for two years in the fall. His departure, if he really leaves, would bring FCW a handsome fee.
Ballet grew up at YB and then initially played on loan for FCW before the Winterthur team finally took him over. In the first Super League season, the 22-year-old was unlucky with a serious injury. In the current season, the young wing with the broad Bernese German made his breakthrough. In 17 games he scored five times and prepared three goals.
Fofana is the same
FC Winterthur has already reacted to Ballet’s possible departure. The Winterthur team sign Boubacar Fofana. The 25-year-old Frenchman comes from Servette Geneva, where he no longer played a role under René Weiler. The tricky wing only made two short appearances and most recently he was no longer in the squad. The tablecloth between coach and player is said to have been cut, at least the “Tribune de Genève” speculated about this. Fofana recently only trained with the U-21 team.
