FC Volendam provides a striking turn in the negotiations with FC Twente about Carel Eiting. An option in the 25-year-old midfielder’s contract has been lifted, sources close to the player report The Telegraph.

Eiting is now fixed in Volendam until mid-2025, where it was previously 2024. There is also no limited transfer fee in the new contract of the former Ajax player. Volendam is therefore even stronger in the negotiations with Twente.
In recent weeks, a transfer soap has developed around Eiting. Twente concretized the long-standing interest with an opening bid of 400,000 euros. This led to great annoyance in Volendam. Technical director Jasper van Leeuwen spoke of a ‘strange and unacceptable’ behavior from Enschede.
Volendam wants six or seven times more for Eiting. That would amount to a transfer fee of 2.4 to 2.8 million euros. The fact that Twente has already spoken to Eiting without permission is also against the sore leg.
