FC Utrecht and Davy van den Berg will continue together in the coming years. The twenty-year-old midfielder from Uden came over from PSV in 2019, has since played fourteen Kitchen Champion Division duels with FC Utrecht and joined the first team this summer.
Van den Berg made an impression in this and is now rewarded with a new contract: his ongoing commitment until 2021 has been extended until mid-2023. “The way in which Davy has manifested himself in the past period is satisfying”, says FC Utrecht director Jordy Zuidam know the club channels. “Davy is a player with flair and self-confidence, who is extremely talented. He reads the game and can use his passing to set up attacks and put teammates in position.”
The midfielder himself is also delighted with the news and is looking forward to his rapid development. “Fourteen games for Young FC Utrecht is actually not a lot, compared to some of the guys who are still there. But I plan to play as many as possible. In the stadium with the first one would be nice, but that number of fourteen I also want to expand. “
Van den Berg could have made his debut for the first team on Saturday, but the game against AZ has been postponed.
