FC Utrecht distances itself from anti-Semitic slogans during a match with Ajax | NOW

On Thursday FC Utrecht distanced themselves from anti-Semitic chants during the semi-final won against Ajax in the TOTO KNVB Cup tournament. The club says that the behavior of some of the fans is very disappointing.

According to FC Utrecht, anti-Semitic slogans were heard around the match at Galgenwaard Stadium and it is up to the Public Prosecution Service to look into the matter.

“Of course FC Utrecht will provide all possible cooperation that is requested in this case”, the brand new cup finalist reports in a short statement on his site.

Ajax was defeated 2-0 on Wednesday by goals from Sander van de Streek and Simon Gustafson, who used a penalty kick. FC Utrecht is the first finalist in the cup tournament.

The opponent comes out of the match between Feyenoord and NAC Breda on Thursday-evening, who will meet each other at 20.45 in De Kuip. The final is also in Rotterdam on April 19.
