Marco Timmer expects FC Twente to have little chance against Manchester United. The journalist also gives Joseph Oosting’s selection a clear piece of advice.
On Wednesday evening, FC Twente will visit Old Trafford for the Europa League. “You can’t expect FC Twente to do well,” Timmer begins in a video item from Voetbal International. He does emphasize that Manchester United is not in good shape at the moment. “We drew again (against Crystal Palace, ed. 0-0) and they have a hard time scoring. But there is a huge difference between the Premier League and the Eredivisie.”
The fact that FC Twente has little chance according to Timmer does not mean that they should not go there with that attitude. “If there is one thing I can not hope for, it is that it will be an outing for Twente. I am making an appeal now: I do not want to see any Twente players in the stadium taking a picture. No selfies”, the journalist emphasizes. “Then you are already behind 3-0. Just play that match as if you can win it, with that intention. And be humble if you get a spanking. But do not say in advance: oh great, we are going on a nice school trip.”
