FC Twentedirector Jan Streuer has given an update on the composition of his selection. The badly injured Julio Pleguezuelo also appears to be a player of the Tukkers next season: for the time being it looks like Manfred Ugalde on Queensy Many the same applies.
Pleguezuelo injured his knee in early February and has not played a minute since. The Spaniard’s contract expires, but FC Twente gives him time to continue working on his recovery during the preparation. The Tukkers did not want to lift the option in Pleguezuelo’s current contract, but the talks about a new contract are going according to TC/Tubantia in the right direction.
The number ten from the previous Eredivisieseason has brought in two new players so far with Lars Unnerstall and Virgil Misidjan. Costa Rican Ugalde – who played for Belgian second division team Lommel SK last season – should be next, despite interest from other clubs. “It’s not ready until the signatures are signed, but it looks good. As soon as everything is in place, we can start the paperwork,” said Streuer.
FC Twente also counts on Menig to stay on board. The winger does not want to extend his contract and is also in the interest of FC Utrecht. “I assume he will just stay with us,” concludes Streuer.
