FC Twente and Sparta Rotterdam have done excellent business in the first game of the play-offs for European football. Thanks to a goal from Vaclav Cerny and a goal from Manfred Ugalde, the Tukkers won 1-2 in stoppage time at sc Heerenveen. Sparta won with exactly the same figures at FC Utrecht, although it will probably be a little less happy with that. The team from Rotterdam had a 0-2 lead at halftime. The returns will follow on Sunday.
