According to the city of Winterthur, there are still reservations. Because the work belongs to the city’s art collection, it will remain standing.
The work of art “Circuit Flow” drawn with blue lines in the clubhouse of FC Tössfeld made headlines around the world a year ago: In Germany, England and the USA there were reports about the 28,000 franc work by the two Swiss artists Maureen and Stefanie Kägi.
Martin Zgraggen, President of FC Tössfeld, said himself that they were not completely satisfied with the work of art. Nevertheless, the art and construction work “Circuit Flow” will remain in the Talgut cloakroom building for the time being, as the city of Winterthur announced on Wednesday.
“Reservations against the work of art”
After the users decided a year ago that they wanted to give the work “a chance,” they sat down again for a roundtable with the artists. It turned out that there were still reservations about the work of art.
In a second roundtable, the feedback collected from the tenants was reflected. There are still reservations about the work of art: “To date, the multi-purpose room has not become the hoped-for ‘club room’ for FC Tössfeld,” writes the city of Winterthur in the statement.
Part of the municipal art collection
The blame for this does not lie solely with “Circuit Flow”. But the work of art also brings “something restless” into the sober lounge. FC Tössfeld is now examining structural measures – such as warmer light sources, curtains on windows and a new floor color – to improve the quality of the room.
The art and construction work “Circuit Flow” – part of the city’s art collection – will remain in the building for the time being. “It is part of Winterthur’s cultural heritage, which the city is committed to,” the statement emphasizes.
