The FCSG can’t get rid of its bad luck with injuries: new signing Jovan Milosevic will now also be out for several weeks
New striker Jovan Milosevic tore a ligament in his left foot during his first appearance for Eastern Switzerland on Saturday against Winterthur (2-2). The 18-year-old Serb will be out for several weeks. Willem Geubbels also suffered a setback.

Just last Tuesday, FC St.Gallen announced Milosevic’s loan signing from VfB Stuttgart.
The talented young man should help to remedy the Eastern Swiss team’s stormy slump: before the game against Winterthur, they had only scored two goals in five appearances.
Good start, bad end
Milosevic’s time in St.Gallen began promisingly. In the game against Winterthur he put the opposing goalie under pressure early, Marvin Keller slipped and the new acquisition scored 1-0 in the sixth minute.
But the Serbian young international apparently injured himself in a duel. The injury got worse as the game progressed, so Milosevic had to be substituted in the 34th minute.
He was examined on Monday and the diagnosis was devastating. Milosevic tore a ligament in his left foot and will be out for several weeks. “The season has many, many tests for us,” said St.Gallen coach Peter Zeidler shortly after the game.

Especially since Geubbels’ muscular problems in his thigh became noticeable again on Saturday during the warm-up. It remains to be seen how long the 22-year-old Frenchman will be out for.
St.Gallen’s long injury list
In addition to Milosevic and Geubbels, St.Gallen are also missing Captain Lukas Görtler, Jordi Quintillà, Betim Fazliji, Grégory Karlen and Richard van der Venne due to injuries.
St.Gallen responded to this misery by signing Milosevic and Victor Ruiz. It is questionable whether returnee Ruiz can play in the home game against last-ranked Lausanne-Ouchy on Saturday. The 30-year-old Spaniard, who moved from St.Gallen to Saudi Arabia in August 2022, has not fought any serious fights since August.
Full-back Mattia Zanotti will be suspended after Saturday’s yellow-red card. After all, striker Julian von Moos played just over 30 minutes against Winterthur after a long injury break.
