Linked to FC Porto for just one more year of contract, Mehdi Taremi doesn’t seem very tempted to sign the renewal with the dragons and technically is free to sign a deal with another club within six months. Talks with the Iranian have not been conclusive so far and as time goes by, the possibility of a free departure for the dragon or, alternatively, a less painful sale in this transfer window is emerging.
The fact that the Iranian striker is in a weak situation causes some apprehension in the SAD structure, but the dragons are more than used to dealing with extreme situations and just see what happened recently with Matheus Uribe, who left for Qatar at no cost. The Colombian midfielder, however, did not stop dedicating himself to FC Porto until the end and the dragons know that, if Taremi chooses exactly the same path, the level of professionalism will not fail either.
Anyway, the fragility of the contract between Taremi and FC Porto opens a window of opportunity for clubs with great potential and in Italy there are several emblems that exploit this circumstance with incredible skill.
This is precisely the case of AC Milan, who once again placed Taremi on the list of references for the front line alongside Álvaro Morata. They are two valid options, but with different frameworks, since hiring Taremi may imply a greater investment in the market, but on the other hand, in terms of salary, the load will be lower compared to the Spanish striker.
Anyway, the Italian approach adds another strong club to the list of potential interested parties and puts FC Porto in an ungrateful position. Either he sells immediately for values around 20 million euros or he decides to forego the euros and favor goals for another season. And in that aspect Taremi has been infallible, as he has scored 80 goals in three years for the dragons.
So many goals in attack
Apparently, FC Porto read the events well and anticipated the great activity in the market around Taremi. Perhaps he had foreseen a possible departure of the Iranian and in April he renewed his contract with Toni Martínez, later closing the acquisition of Fran Navarro, completing an attractive two-in-one. These two movements suggest the extreme attention of the dragons to the market, but on the other hand, they put the Porto attack under tremendous stress.
At the moment, the blue and white players have Taremi, Evanilson, Toni Martínez, Danny Namaso and Fran Navarro as goal men and this data puts Sérgio Conceição in front of an extremely competitive scenario. In any case, it seems clear that a goal man will leave the dragon in this transfer window.
