FC Penzberg can cup. He has proven that several times – and now also in the Zugspitze final at SC Gröbenzell. Even being outnumbered didn’t stop the team.

Penzberg – The best gift came from the opponent of all people. The hosts from Gröbenzell honored the Penzberg cup victory with a ration of free beer. Which again caused a boost in mood at the cabin party.

Gröbenzell not only proved to be a fair loser, but also an excellent host. From brass band music to a barbecue – “that was a great final atmosphere,” says Simon Ollert, the coach of 1. FC Penzberg. His footballers enjoyed the surroundings and then put on the right show themselves. The district league team won the final of the Zugspitze Group 6-0.

Higher-class hits are now waiting for FCP in the main round of the Toto Cup. The coaches have decided who will be the next opponent. “We definitely want Unterhaching. We would really like that. Just because of our past,” says Simon Ollert, also on behalf of assistant Maximilian Bauer. This game is expected to increase in the week before the point game starts at the end of July. The opponent is still to be drawn. “We’re approaching it with a lot of euphoria,” says the coach.

The result made sure of that. Although: “The game wasn’t that relaxed,” emphasizes Ollert. Penzberg in the person of Mirko Ramcic made the afternoon more difficult than necessary. With a 2-0 lead, the defender flew off the field with a red card. A double mortgage on the big lawn in Gröbenzell. “Heavy legs, long walks,” explains the trainer. Penzberg compensated for the numerical deficit with effort. “The boys really wanted to win the cup,” says Ollert. In addition, the tuition of the past few weeks has finally been exchanged for luck. Happens to Final Cut Pro not that often.

Penzberg opened with two nice long-range goals from Ramcic and Josef Siegert. “Gave us security,” says Ollert. The coach then saw the 3-0 right before half-time (Durim Gjocaj) as a key moment because he countered Gröbenzell’s storm and urge phase.

Half two shaped Penzberg’s efficiency. “We scored from almost every chance.” The team was particularly happy for Uros Puskas, who scored a brace. “We all know what he’s been through in the last few months,” says Simon Ollert. The Serb commutes between Penzberg and home. The child and family live there while he works in Germany and looks for a place to stay in order to move here together. “How much he has to let down,” says his coach. FCP is like a surrogate family for Puskas. The jubilation at his two goals was all the more emotional.

After the game there were medals for the cup winners. At home in the Nonnenwald, they ate at the club’s host, Samir Azizi, before some of them left for Munich to celebrate. “You can get used to that,” enthuses Simon Ollert. “That gives a boost.” The Penzbergers have big plans. In any case, they already know how to party properly.
