FC Nantes Officially Signs Two South Americans from Salonika and Arsenal

The Canaries have formalized the arrival of two South Americans from Salonika and Arsenal.

On the eve of its first Ligue 1 match of the season against Toulouse, FC Nantes formalized on Saturday the transfer of two additional recruits, the Brazilians Douglas Augusto and Marquinhos, respectively from Salonika and Arsenal.

Trained at Fluminense, midfielder Douglas Augusto, 26, has been playing since 2019 in Greece at PAOK Salonika, with whom he played 36 games last season, and is now contracted with Nantes until 2027. The amount of the transfer was not specified.

The young winger Marquinhos, 20, is loaned to the Canaries for one season without an option to buy by Arsenal, where he arrived in July 2022. Very little used in the league, he played three matches in the Europa League before being loaned during the winter transfer window to Norwich City (2nd English division).

Nantes, which also announced this summer the arrival of defender Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel (ex-Mainz) and midfielder Lamine Diack (Ankaragucu), begins its season on Sunday (3:00 p.m.) with the reception of Toulouse.
