At 10 against 11 for almost the entire match, FC Nantes scored a good draw against OM (1-1)
In front of 35,000 supporters at La Beaujoire, the Canaries managed to snatch a point thanks to a magnificent goal from Mostafa Mohamed just before the break (39th). The case was however badly started for the Nantes, led 1-0 from the 4th minute and reduced to 10 after only 9 minutes and the expulsion of the young Meupiyou. The satisfaction of coach Pierre Aristouy at the microphone of Simon Reungoat:
« I just said it was the game of courage, but I don’t want to talk about that. There have been and it is essential. The matches today last 100 minutes, so we played maybe 90 to 95 minutes ten against eleven. Courage, of course, is needed. But it is also tactical notions or technical notions. I found that on the first hour of play in particular, we are not there. We didn’t just have courage. We also had quality in certain offensive animations, certain ball outings. I find that we don’t steal the equalizer and indeed at the end, we had to hold on more than anything else.
The joy of FCN goalkeeper Rémy Descamps at the microphone of Simon Reungoat:
« Ten against eleven, but with the public and with all the rage and courage we had, we managed to create this thing that we all look for in football. It is this spark of brilliance that keeps us alive in this match and that makes us take a point tonight against a very good team from Marseille. We had a lot of complicated matches, we knew. Well, we had such a complicated preparation, we had to adapt. There were a lot of arrivals too. We have two points out of four matches, it’s not catastrophic. We see the game, we see the soul of the club, the public is there. Now, we will have to be present on the important matches like Clermont or Lorient which are coming »
In the standings, FC Nantes is provisionally 15th with 2 points…
It should also be noted that the evening took place without major clashes in the stands (see Tweet above), despite the conflict between the Brigade Loire and the security of the FCN. The ultras from Nantes were able to enter with their equipment to ensure the atmosphere at La Beaujoire.
The rest of this Ligue 1 day from 5:00 p.m. at the Francis le Blé stadium, with a highly anticipated Breton derby between Stade Brestois and Stade Rennais… Lorient will play Le Havre tomorrow…
Also to follow in Ligue 2 at 7:00 p.m. this evening: Amiens – Guingamp, Concarneau – Annecy, Angers – Paris FC and Laval – Caen…
