FC Metz will go to Valenciennes!

FC Metz know their opponent for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. During the draw which was carried out this Sunday at the premises of Eurosport, the Mosellans inherited a Ligue 2 club, the Valenciennes Football Club. The northern club, current 10e of his championship, had left Reims (4-3) in the previous round.

Frédéric Antonetti’s men won in Amiens (Ligue 2) thanks to a penalty from Vagner at the last minute of regulation time. This round of 16 will be played on the weekend of March 6 and 7 at the Hainaut stadium.

If successful, FC Metz players would return to the round of 16 as in the 2018/2019 season during which they had been eliminated by Orléans after brilliantly exiting AS Monaco in 16th.

Authors of an excellent season in Ligue 1 since they point to a flattering 6e up in the standings after 26 days of the championship, John Boye and his partners also hope to achieve a good career in the Coupe de France.
