The sun was shining in wonderful winter weather and so Lukas Podolski (34) was able to enjoy the view over Cologne almost to Düsseldorf when he met on Tuesday morning to talk to the FC bosses and clarify the future together.
The meeting took place very high up in the Cologne tower in the Sauren Fonds offices. The Vice President was the host, with the table sitting next to Podolski President Werner Wolf and the managing directors Alexander Wehrle and Horst Heldt as well as Podolski’s long-time confidant and advisor Nassim Touihri.
Lukas Podolski had already announced discussions with the FC bosses
“We will meet and everything will come to the table,” Podolski announced last week. The world champion would have liked to end his career at FC, because that was not a sporting goal, he will probably be introduced to Antalyaspor as a newcomer at the end of the week (contract until 2021).

Lukas Podolski should plan future cooperation with FC managers
President Werner Wolf stated that it was agreed to “tackle both short-term cooperation and the integration of Lukas into the club after his active career.” He praised Podolski as “an idol for a whole generation of FC fans”.
Podolski thanked the FC officials for “a pleasant and open exchange. I look forward to planning how I can support the FC together. Because Cologne was, is and will remain my home and FC is my club. “
