Grenoble rugby players suffered a new setback, after having already been penalized by 6 points in the Pro D2 ranking due to financial problems the previous season. The National Rugby League, in conflict with the club, has just imposed a new penalty of 6 points (and 3 others suspended), again for financial reasons.

“Following the hearing of FC Grenoble Rugby and after analysis of the documents in the files, the investigation reports and the arguments presented by the club, the “Regulation” training of the French Rugby Disciplinary Council (formerly “Conseil Supérieur of the DNACG”) pronounced the following decisions:
– a withdrawal of 5 points including 1 point accompanied by a suspension of the ranking of the professional PRO D2 championship of the current season on the grounds of
Article 3.1.2 “inconsistency and/or implausibility of the updated budget”. can we read in the official press release. Very bad news for Grenoble which still has seven days to appeal the decision.
