Freiburg (dpa) – The third division soccer team FC Erzgebirge Aue managed to win again after three lost away games. The Saxons won 1-0 (1-0) against the second team from SC Freiburg in the Dreisamstadion. The goalscorer was Erik Majetschak (34th) for the violets.
After an uneventful first 25 minutes, Linus Rosenlocher had his first dangerous chance to score in the 30th minute with a sharp shot from the second row that was only just deflected over the crossbar by Freiburg goalkeeper Benjamin Uphoff. The Auer team got stronger and stronger and were rewarded in the 34th minute with Majetschak making it 1-0 after a strong free kick from Marvin Stefaniak.
The second half also belonged to the guests from the Ore Mountains. In the 58th minute, Stefaniak shot from 30 meters. Uphoff was only able to hold on to the deflected ball with difficulty and thus prevented the score being 0-2. There was far too little from Breisgauer, especially in the second half, so that Aue was able to hold on to a narrow lead over time.
With the win in Breisgau, Aue managed to jump from eleventh place to fourth place in the table. Next week there will be both the Saxony Cup game against BSG Stahl Riesa on Tuesday and the next league game on Friday against SC Verl.
