The construction of the new stadium is progressing in leaps and bounds and, as far as is known, is also on schedule – so everything would be done to punctually at the beginning of the new season, the dream of Bundesliga football or the return to Austria’s football belle etage in the new jewel box at the to realize the Danube. Looking confidently into the spring season: FC Blau Weiß Linz sports director Tino Wawra.
At the start of spring, the explosive Upper Austria duel with Forward Steyr
Next Friday, the OÖ duel against the Blue and Whites is waiting for them SK forward Steyr (LIVE from 8:30 p.m. in the LIGAPORTAL LIVETICKER) and Daniel Madlener’s eleven will go into the game highly motivated.
We talked to the sports director of Linz, Tino Wawra, before the start of the spring championship and got some interesting information:
Tino Wawra on the result of the preparation:
“We can look back on a very successful preparation, which went almost a little too positively. Only in the game against stripping, where we had to struggle with heavy legs, did we drop a bit and learned a lot from that.
We had great conditions in Turkey and we can also look back on a perfect training camp, which really brought us forward as a team. It’s also positive that we don’t actually have any injured players in the squad and can go into the second half of the season with a complete squad.
Conversely, this also means that one or the other will not be there in the first game.”
…about outlook & objectives:
“We now want to take the positive emotions of the last few weeks into the derby against Steyr. Steyr is currently appearing very self-confident, wants to be in the TOP 10 and, if you look at the starting position, then has to win the game against us.
For us, we can’t allow ourselves a false start like we did in the summer. We have to be there right from the start and deliver – the start will be extremely important for us. We all feel very well prepared and are looking forward to kick-off on Friday.
Our big goal is promotion and we will now subordinate everything to that – we don’t want to beat around the bush anymore.”
…about the squad and potential changes:
“The situation is clear for Fally Mayulu, he will leave us for Hütteldorf at the end of the season. With Matthias Seidl, too, the signs are saying goodbye in the summer. In general, we have a lot of work ahead of us.
In April there would be a few options to draw – we will see in the next few weeks where the direction is going and then make the respective decisions.
…about his own contract situation:
“Like head coach Gerald Scheiblehner, my contract runs out at the end of the season. But I want to make it very clear that this is not about me at the moment – my person is irrelevant now!
The only important thing is that we start the second half of the season well.”
