FC Bayern: Turning point for Joshua Kimmich!

Sporting director Max Eberl has publicly adopted a conciliatory tone in the Joshua Kimmich case. This means that there are clear trends for the Bayern star’s future.

Dutifully, albeit with a somewhat doubtful expression on his face, Joshua Kimmich faced this unusual challenge as part of FC Bayern’s tour of South Korea.

Kimmich back to number six permanently?

Kimmich wants to achieve a lot with Bayern

No matter what position Kimmich ends up occupying, one thing is clear: the 29-year-old has the ambition to be a leading player at FC Bayern.

Eberl puts Kimmich in focus

He thinks that “the general perception in Germany does not do him justice,” said Eberl – thereby striking a conciliatory tone that would have a positive effect on the public.

Recently, honorary president Uli Hoeneß had already sent positive signals towards Kimmich. “He is a very reasonable man with whom you can have a very reasonable conversation,” said Hoeneß. On top of that, he confirmed that Kimmich had performed well in the second half of the season and at the European Championships.

Michael Reschke also positioned himself in the SPORTS1Interview: “Jo has certainly had phases in which he has not played at his top level, but even then he is at least a very good Bundesliga player and always a player with a strong mentality. The fact that Kimmich has been criticized in some cases in a factually incorrect way is completely incomprehensible to me,” said the former technical director of the record champions.

For Reschke, Kimmich is much more of an eight than a six. “He is a top international player because he can use his exceptional quality to make the decisive pass much better than he can at number six.”

Like Hoeneß, he found Kimmich’s performance as a right-back at the European Championships to be strong. “We in Germany should be happy to be able to rely on such a strong, performance-conscious and strong player.”

The Kimmich case remains exciting

The public charm offensive is likely to be well received by Kimmich, as he is considered a player who wants to feel absolutely supported.

He is also deeply rooted in Munich in his private life. “In general, I feel very comfortable here. All my children were born here. We built here,” said Kimmich.

A sudden departure during this transfer period is therefore almost unthinkable. However, the Kimmich case remains exciting – also with regard to his future role at Bayern. A career as a dancer in South Korea seems out of the question.
