FC Bayern trouble! Manuel Neuer allegedly demands mega-salary

Hansi Flick and Thomas Müller were the first two key figures with which FC Bayern have extended in the past few days. Manuel Neuer should have signed a new working paper long ago. However, the club and players are apparently not on the same wavelength.

After repeatedly saying in the last few weeks that the contract term was the decisive hurdle on the way to a contract extension for Manuel Neuer at FC Bayern, “Bild” now wants to know that the goalkeeper and the record champions are also far apart financially .

The paper reports that Neuer demands an annual salary of over 20 million euros from the association. A sum that should have been misunderstood by those responsible.

Neuer apparently has good reasons to demand the mega-salary from the Munich. According to “Bild”, there is speculation within the team that players like Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Hernández are already collecting more than 20 million euros annually. Neuer obviously doesn’t want to be inferior to that. The club did not want to comment on request. The representatives of the national goalkeeper did not initially report any water levels either.

The salary and contract duration – Neuer would like to have a contract until 2025, but FC Bayern only offers one contract until 2023 plus an option for another year – are not the only factors that stand in the way of an extension. The fact that Munich’s new signing Alexander Nübel has promised missions should not be met with love by Neuer.

Allegedly, writes “Bild”, Nübel assignments could take long-term number one both for bonuses and for an automatic contract extension for another year.

It is therefore far from certain who will prevail in the supposed power struggle between Neuer and FC Bayern. It seems clear: There won’t be a “winner” anytime soon. Two “winners” currently seem even less likely.
