Alarios double pack brings about the turning point in Breisgau
Bayer Leverkusen jumped after the 4-2 in Freiburg Sunday afternoon in fourth place. The Rhinelander were quickly behind in the Breisgau, but Alario’s double pack put the Bosz-Elf on the winning road. Previously, a red card for Bayer’s defender Sven Bender was converted into a warning. With a nice flick from Amiri, the Leverkusen team moved away 3-1 before Freiburg’s top joker Petersen brought the prank team up again. When Tah then nodded off heavily, the first home defeat for Freiburg was certain. Since the first match day (3-2 in Stuttgart), the SC has been waiting for a win, while Bayer remains undefeated.
Gladbach’s wolf duped his regular club Leipzig
The topgame on Saturday night between Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig took 45 minutes to pick up speed. Before the break, the guests from Saxony were more agreeable, but not really compelling in front of the opposing goal. With the change of sides, Gladbach invested more in the game and, of all things, took the lead through RB loan Wolf (60th). The visors were then folded up: Sabitzer was missing centimeters, Plea only hit aluminum with a direct take-off (66th, 67th). The game lost its attractiveness due to many personnel changes, and in the end it remained at a narrow 1-0. Leipzig suffered the second bankruptcy in a row and are no longer leaders.
Müller and Gnabry shoot Bayern to the top
The top position has been since Saturday afternoon FC Bayern Munich. The record champions laid the foundation for the 2-1 success in Cologne before the break. Müller converted a hand penalty, Gnabry completed an exemplary counterattack (13th, 45th + 1). After the change, the triple winner managed for the most part before Drexler’s connecting goal brought a little tension again (82nd). Bayern’s board member Oliver Kahn may have received the victory he deserved with mixed feelings. Because: goalscorer Müller set Kahn’s club record of 260 Bundesliga victories with FCB.
Hummels first celebrated, then replaced when he was damaged
Borussia Dortmund was not covered in fame at the same time, but at least improved the previously devastating away record in Bielefeld with a 2-0 win. BVB won just two (!) Of a total of 17 guest appearances at the Alm – the last one was almost 21 years ago. Without Haaland (knee problems), Dortmund only really developed punch after the change. By a central defender: With a bit of luck and his thigh, Hummels broke the spell before he tied the double pack with his head (53rd, 71st). The only downer was that the world champion from 2014 had to be replaced shortly before the end – maybe a precautionary measure with a view to the hit against Bayern tied for points next Saturday (6.30 p.m., LIVE! At kicker).
Bremen fought for a point in Frankfurt
The only point division on Saturday afternoon was in Frankfurt, where Eintracht did not get beyond a 1-1 draw against Bremen. The home team set the tone but failed to take the lead. Kamada’s hit, which was withdrawn after video evidence, was only centimeters missing (34th). After the change, Bremen suddenly took the lead through Sargent (51st), which resulted in angry SGE attacks. Target player Silva awarded a top-class player to equalize four minutes later (65th). Frankfurt stayed tuned, Werder concentrated on individual pinpricks – and ultimately held on to the somewhat lucky point.
Hahn makes the difference in Augsburg
The thunderclouds over 1. FSV Mainz 05 are meanwhile getting darker: The Rheinhessen conceded their sixth defeat in the sixth Bundesliga game at 1: 3 in Augsburg. Only Fortuna Düsseldorf (1991/92) “managed” that and was the last to be relegated in the end. Vargas gave FCA a spectacular lead with an overhead kick (40th), before FSV joker Onisiwo brought hope back (64th). Ultimately, however, the difference was made by Hahn, who tied a double pack within eleven minutes (80th, 90th + 1).
